Assistant VP / Vice President of Portfolio

We are looking for a dynamic individual to drive M&A, investment projects and portfolio value creation initiatives.

Reports to: Head of Portfolio Management


  • Lead and advise on post acquisition and/or merger integration value creation work for Mitsui’s invested assets

  • Conduct analysis and recommendations for post investment integration strategy from an operations improvement perspective, and drive implementation of value creation initiatives

  • Sourcing and originating investment opportunities across Asia

  • Recommend and drive fund structures for relevant projects

  • Manage commercial, financial and legal due diligence alongside external advisors

  • Lead projects related to strategy development, business development, and portfolio management

  • Conduct high quality quantitative analyses and advanced financial modelling that provides actionable insights, and be able to present them well

  • Coordinate and communicate regularly with a variety of stakeholders within parent and portfolio companies

  • Value creation: lead projects with portfolio companies to identify and improve operational and strategic issues

  • Establish review frameworks, create operational dashboards for value creation projects

  • Mentor and train junior colleagues, provide expert advice to the team

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance from a recognised university. Masters’ degree in a relevant discipline is a bonus.

  • At least 10 years of relevant experience, preferably from a corporate finance role experience in M&A and structured finance transactions

  • Healthcare sector experience with an understanding of hospital and healthcare services workflows is preferred

  • Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English, and fluency in a second Asian language to effectively cover either China or Japan markets

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint preparation skills

  • Leadership and management experience

  • Excellent collaborator and team player with a positive attitude

  • Analytical, strong business acumen and able to thrive in an unstructured environment

  • Self-motivated, resourceful, creative, task oriented

  • Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities, with attention to detail
