Portfolio Officers

Our portfolio officers are experienced individuals appointed from within the Mitsui Group and are responsible for a wide range of strategic and value creation initiatives of their assigned portfolio company. They are typically based within Mitsui's portfolio companies as a full time resource in order to help their management drive strategies that benefit the growth of these companies.

Dr Motoko Sano

Motoko joined Mitsui in 2020. Before Mitsui, She has more than a decade of working experience in operations and strategic planning at Kameda Medical Center in Japan and Alexandra Hospital in Singapore. Motoko also worked at Boston Consulting Group and served multiple healthcare providers in improving profitability. She holds an MBA from Waseda University and a Ph.D. in Healthcare Policy from Tokyo Medical and Dental University.

Tianmu Wu

He was previously a member of the accounting & financial advisory team in Mitsui Tokyo. Prior to that, he was a project leader at Mercari, one of the largest tech startups in Japan, where he led the IPO and data automation project from accounting and finance side. He also worked as an auditor in EY Tokyo and San Jose office. He holds a Bachelor's degree of computer science in Tongji University and CPA license in Japan and State of Maine, USA.

Abilio Yamane

Abilio began his career at Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities in Japan where he managed global equity transactions. After joining healthcare division at Mitsui & Co., he conducted multiple investments in the Asian healthcare market and executed operations initiatives while working at Columbia Asia Hospital. Currently Abilio is responsible for operational improvements at IHH. He holds a MBA from IESE Business School.
