Assistant VP / Vice President of Operations and Clinical Excellence, Data & Innovation Division

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic individual to join us in executing our exciting growth plans across Asia and the USA. This new role is expected to support the growth of our healthcare solutions business and portfolio management especially in the areas of operations, value creation, and clinical excellence.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Operations

  • Work with MHM management to drive the development of business plan(s) for the Data & Innovation Division and its subsidiaries

  • Work with MHM management on staffing strategy: identifying gaps, recruitment, build resources and capabilities

  • Support the strategy, business development and partnership activities of the division and its subsidiaries

  • Support the management of shareholders and Board of Directors of the business and joint venture company

  • Co-manage the P&L, including sales and partnerships for all its business segments

  • Set up systems and workflow for the smooth running of the business including relevant automation and software for functions such as invoicing/billing, HR management, performance evaluation etc.

  • Oversees the daily workflow of the Division and report performance evaluations to the management in constructive and timely manner.

  • Ensures that departmental decisions and project plans such as those for material efficiency, hardware acquisitions, and facilities are in line with the organizations business plan and vision.

  • Identify operational needs for the Division in realising strategies, business opportunities.

  • Lead establishing and review operational workflows toward quality processes.

2. Value creation

  • Support clients to identify and improve operational issues

  • Establish review frameworks, conduct data analytics, initiate and advise on efficiency and execution plans

 

3. Clinical excellence

  • Support the Data & Innovation team and its client pipeline in solution/ service development phase from clinical excellence point of view

 

4. Administration

  • Provide strategic and project progress reports in Japanese language to the headquarters located in Japan.

 

Skills, experience, and qualifications

  • Self-motivated, strong communication, and positive attitude

  • Excellent collaborator and team player

  • Multi-professional team management experience

  • Ability to drive startup objectives whilst navigating a Japanese trading company corporate culture

  • Ability to influence and educate key stakeholders on new business plans and new ideas

  • Adaptable to industry changes and shareholder expectations

  • Good understanding of healthcare ecosystem touch points, clinical pathways, and operational challenges in digitalization

  • Degree in business or healthcare administration preferred

  • Lean and/or Six Sigma certification and experience preferred

  • Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English and fluency in Japanese language

  • Over 10 years of experience in the healthcare and/or life sciences industry, with in-depth understanding of hospital and healthcare services workflows
